Master Watershed Steward Program for High School Students

What is a watershed? How does it function? How do we best manage it for its plants, animals, and community? These are some of the questions that we will explore in the Master Watershed Steward Program. We will use a combination of learning sessions, hands-on training, and action activities to learn about watershed ecology and humans’ interaction with watersheds. The program will be based at the Matson Creek Wetland Preserve, 165 acres of restored tidal wetland. Students will come away with science knowledge, skills, high school and college credit, community service hours, and exploration of various carreers in natural resources.
